[Spike is sick of being in the infirmary. He's not really feeling healthy by any definition of the word, but he didn't get where he is today by letting things like that get in his way.]

Right. Checking myself out, doc!

[He doesn't wait for an answer before swinging his legs out of the bed. He gets hit by a wave of dizziness, but he puts a hand on the wall until it subsides. Then he grabs his coat and starts making his way slowly out of the infirmary. If any doctor tries to stop him, he will glare. He's not really over his death toll, but he's going to spend the rest of it in his own room with his own Passions DVDs. And he will make it, even if he has to stop a few times and take the elevator.]



[ooc: Open for replies over the journals, for which we can assume some elapsed time because he isn't responding until he reaches his destination, or spam from anyone in the medical room, near his room, or anywhere in between. Also, of course, open to horribly awkward hugs. Or non-awkward hugs, but those seem less likely.]

[Spike doesn't fall, though it's a near thing a few times. Then he glances over and scowls a bit.]

"Actually, I was considering starting a betting pool on how many times you'd fall before you got out of here. You're a warden, shouldn't I trust your judgement on whether or not you're ready to check out?"

"I won't fall." Spike put his hand on the wall and took another step. "Might take me a while, but I won't."

"Well, then I suppose I don't have to put you back in bed now, can I? And I could hardly in good conscience help you leave. If you can't get out that door without help, then you should probably stay."

"When I'm not busy saving all my energy for moving, remind me to explain to you about not being Spock about people." He stopped moving for a moment, then looked up at her. "Come over here." He had this intense urge to hug her, but he wasn't about to take more steps out of his way than necessary.

"What's spock?" she asked, unfamiliar with the word, before complying and walking over to Spike to see why he wanted her to come over.

"Highly logical alien thing. Ask that T'pol bird."

As soon as Elphaba was within reach, he wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug.

Elphaba was shocked, not just by the hug, but the fact that she responded by returning the hug. Once she realized what she was doing, she pulled away. "What...was that?"

Spike looks a bit confused himself, but that's still a question to which he knows the answer. "Well, in some circles, it's called a hug. Look it up."

"I'm aware of that. Why was it?"

Spike thought about it for a moment, then shrugged. Then he winced. Shrugging, not a great idea. "Bloody good question."

"What I found strangest is the fact that I returned it."

"It's not the sort of thing I do all that often either," Spike said, frowning. "Could be a flood, or something. A particularly pathetic one."

"A very affectionate one, apparently."
