Normally it's annoying as hell giving all the new people the tedious "Welcome to the Barge, try not to break anything" speech, but I didn't mind as much this time around. [He's still enjoying having Buffy around. Oh, and Andrew's here too. Which is... better than some people who could have shown up.]

Hello, new people I haven't already spoken to, I'm Spike. Vampire warden, got a soul, won't bite unless you really annoy me... I lied, it's still boring.

I could probably prove it to you. Come meet you in person. Show you that the shift is not just a trick, but something that actually happens, Show you how I don't have a pulse or a reflection. But honestly I don't care enough to bother.

Yeah, I'm sure you could. You don't pull a trick like the one you just did without some follow through. That just makes you good at what you do, not a vampire. I can still respect it though.

[Buffy stood next to Spike, a constant, firm smirk on her face. Her arms were crossed and she was trying so hard to prepare herself for meeting the Wicked Witch. Wearing a sensible outfit, Buffy took a deep breath and calmed herself.]

As ready as I'll ever be.

[Elphaba opened the door with a neutral expression.] Hello. Come in.

[And with that she retreated into her room, which looked much like a witch's room should, filled with ancient books, a red crystal ball, a telescope, a skeleton wing of something that had wings the size of a flying monkeys, and various other paraphernalia that seemed to generate a creepy wicked witch vibe. Chistery was in the room as well, and he fluttered over to the two, looking at the two curiously.]

[Spike nods, giving Buffy a small smile, then steps in.]

Elphaba, this is Buffy. She's the one who helped me become good.

SPAAAAAM

[Buffy walked in and kept that polite firm little smile on her lips, her eyes bulging ever so slightly at Elphaba's cabin. Yep. Exactly how she would have pictured it. Exactly. Except..

Flying monkey. A flying monkey. A real life flying monkey. Buffy made a noise in her throat and stared at it, unable to fully pay attention to what was being said.]

Hi, Elphaba, and yeah, uhhuh, Spike's.. good... [She looked at Elphaba] Is it.. friendly? [Part of her Slayer instinct said slay and/or defend, but mostly she was just hoping it was nice.]

Well, I struggled for a while, but then I decided to pick it because it's when I was born.

I changed my mind. It's a pretty good con. Making all the people around here think that you're some kind of all powerful monster. It's a good way to get influence very quickly.

Yeah, I'm brilliant like that. So're all the other vampires on board. And the other nasties we sometimes get.

An idea can spread very quickly, sometimes. Do you guys have your own special club?

Not really. I mean, I think some of the others'd like to have one, bloodsucker solidarity and whatnot, but I've never been one for playing nice with others. Anyway, these days I get on much better with humans than other vampires. Long story. Ends with me not being evil anymore.

[It wasn't saying much, but Chistery was generally friendly. He really only captured Dorothy and nearly drowned her dog because Elphaba had ordered it.]

What does a 'vampire' do to be evil anyway? It's not like you can actually drink blood.

Well, yeah, actually, we can.

Generally speaking, the evil ones kill humans and the good ones don't.

Humans kill humans and that doesn't always make them 'evil'. Sometimes it just makes them practical.
