Normally it's annoying as hell giving all the new people the tedious "Welcome to the Barge, try not to break anything" speech, but I didn't mind as much this time around. [He's still enjoying having Buffy around. Oh, and Andrew's here too. Which is... better than some people who could have shown up.]

Hello, new people I haven't already spoken to, I'm Spike. Vampire warden, got a soul, won't bite unless you really annoy me... I lied, it's still boring.

More so than I am.

[It wasn't saying much, but Chistery was generally friendly. He really only captured Dorothy and nearly drowned her dog because Elphaba had ordered it.]

[He glances over at Buffy. Is that a slaying look?]

The monkey's all right. I wouldn't have let her have him if he were dangerous.

Oh. Good. That's good.

[She gives Chistery a little wave and a smile, still not sure if she wants to pet it or not. Buffy then focuses her attention back on the people in the room. She gives Elphaba a polite look-over, but has trouble not staring at her.]

You're, uh, much prettier than in the movie I saw. With you. Or the person acting as you.

[Oh god, was that the right thing to say? It was completely sincere, but.. She was trying so hard to take this seriously.]

"What's a movie?"

[Previously, aside from the books, people had mentioned a musical, a children's show, concepts Elphaba was familiar with in the form of live performances, but she'd never heard the word 'movie'.]

It's sort of like a very large picture, only it moves and there's sound. And usually a story. They made one based off the book I told you about.

[Buffy smiled a little awkwardly, giving Spike a was that a whoops moment? look. She then focused back on Elphaba, shrugging a little. She had no words at this moment.]

[He glances back to Buffy.]

Not what we're here about, anyway. I mostly just wanted to introduce you two. Since she's, you know, important to me.

Yeah. [Buffy smiles a little, still feeling rather awkward.] Much prettier.

[She gives Spike a glance too. One of silent comradeship.]
